The 2026 water year yielded unprecedented hydrologic conditions, forced new levels of administration under prior appropriation, and fostered collaboration to stretch minimal supplies. Many water users experienced broken augmentation plans, failing wells, and shortened growing seasons.
This panel will discuss the lessons learned from this historic year and provide insight into how water users can use these lessons to protect their supplies in future drought years. Water attorneys as well as those who practice real estate and do land use & development will benefit from this event.
